Appeal after Nottinghamshire man dies in two-car crash near Worksop

Police are appealing for witnesses after a Nottinghamshire man died in a two-vehicle crash.

Tony Dunn, 31, of Worksop, died in the accident on the B6045 between Worksop and Blyth on Saturday afternoon.

A Nissan Navara and a Vauxhall Astra car were involved in the accident near the entrance of Hodsock Priory.

A police spokesman said several cars were being overtaken by the Vauxhall at the time but the drivers did not remain at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan, a 49-year-old woman from Maltby, suffered serious leg injuries and was taken to Bassetlaw District General Hospital in Worksop.

Det Sgt James Greely, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "It is believed there were a number of vehicles being overtaken by the Vauxhall car at the time of the collision.

"Unfortunately none of these witnesses remained at the scene and they could provide important information about the circumstances of this tragic incident."
