Staff threatened in armed robbery bid at petrol station

Petrol station staff were threatened during an attempted armed robbery in Nottingham, police said.

Two men entered Murco Service Station in Mill Street, Old Basford at about 06:30 GMT.

Officers believe one of the men was carrying a knife, while another was holding a firearm. None of the staff were injured.

The men threatened staff and demanded money but fled empty handed, Nottinghamshire Police said.

The petrol station forecourt has been cordoned off, while investigations take place. Police said they were searching the area and viewing CCTV footage.

No-one has been arrested in connection with the attempted armed robbery.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
