Nottingham man's death treated as suspicious

The death of a man who died in hospital after being found on a street in Nottingham city centre is being treated as suspicious, police confirmed.

Officers found the man, believed to be in his 30s, near the Lloyds TSB branch on Lower Parliament Street at about 04:00 BST.

He was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre but pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

Part of the road has been cordoned off to allow for forensic investigations.

A post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death is due to take place.

Officers have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
