In pictures: 10,000 bugs made for Nottingham Castle show
An artist has handmade 10,000 ceramic insects for her first solo exhibition, opening in Nottinghamshire in October.
Anna Collette Hunt started creating the insects in March and said she has spent "thousands" of hours creating them, with help from friends, family and a church group in Sherwood.
The 24-year-old said her work had been inspired by the permanent collection of preserved insects on show at Wollaton Hall, which she visited as a child.
The exhibition called Stirring the Swarm opens at Nottingham Castle on 8 October.
The artist started by creating 50 clay models from photos and drawings taken at Wollaton Hall. From the models she produced the moulds to make the insects.
Each insect has taken about three weeks to complete, from start to finish, having to be fired in a kiln, glazed and then fired again.
The exhibition will be taking over the South Hall staircase at Nottingham Castle until 29 January. "It will be like a real infestation for three months," Ms Hunt said.
