Thomas Hawksley: Nottinghamshire water works pioneer


Thomas Hawksley (1807-1893) designed the country's first water works system that provided a constant high pressure supply.

The BBC's John Holmes has looked at how an engineer born in Arnold, Nottinghamshire, helped stop the spread of cholera and unwittingly saved millions of lives worldwide.
