Umpire debuts as the voice of Wimbledon

Help

One of tennis's longest-serving umpires, John Parry, has made his debut as the announcer at the tennis tournament.

Mr Parry, 72, from Farnsfield in Nottinghamshire, has spent 30 years in the umpire's chair, been in charge of several Wimbledon finals and witnessed a few on court rants by John McEnroe.

He said it was nice to have a good audience "who do listen".
