Fire breaks out at recycling centre in Colwick

Crews have extinguished a fire that broke out at a recycling centre in Nottingham.

Two appliances were called to the site at Private Road Number Four on Colwick Industrial Estate in the early hours of Saturday.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said about 700 tonnes of refuse were affected by the flames.

Crews remained at the scene for several hours to damp down the site.
