Man arrested over fatal stabbing in Sutton-in-Ashfield

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 27-year-old was found fatally wounded in a Nottinghamshire house.

Officers were called to an address in Jephson Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, at about 2330 GMT on Friday.

They found three men with stab wounds, one of whom was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

Another man is in a serious condition in hospital while a third man received superficial injuries, police said.

A 23-year-old man was arrested and is due to be questioned by police.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said: "They [officers] found three men with injuries caused by what is believed at this time to be a knife or bladed instrument.

"At this stage we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident."

The scene has been cordoned off for officers to carry out forensic examinations.
