Two men arrested over Wollaton bank robbery

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of robbery following a raid at a Nottingham bank.

A quantity of cash was taken during the robbery at the Royal Bank of Scotland, Bramcote Lane, Wollaton, at about 1220 GMT on Tuesday.

The men, aged 37 and 39, were stopped by armed officers at the junction of Pasture Road and Ilkeston Road, Stapleford, shortly afterwards.

It is believed a knife was used in the raid although no-one was injured.

The suspects are in police custody for questioning.
