CCTV appeal in Nottingham over fatal stabbing

Police investigating a stabbing in Nottingham on New Year's Day want to speak to several people seen on CCTV footage at the time of the attack.

Felix Akhigbe, 35, of Beauvale Road, Nottingham, died in hospital after being found with stab wounds on Lower Parliament Street.

Raymond Iriogbe, 48, of Carlton Road, Nottingham, was charged with murder at Nottingham Crown Court on 5 January.

A police spokesman said the people were possibly crucial witnesses in the case.

Det Ch Insp Kate Meynell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "After viewing CCTV footage of the moments leading up to Mr Akhigbe being stabbed, there are clearly several people who were in the area and may have seen what happened.

"They may not realise exactly what they saw, but it's vitally important that anyone who thinks they may have seen what happened contacts police."
