Two arrested over spate of garden fires in Nottingham

Two men, aged 19 and 27, have been arrested on suspicion of arson following a number of fires in an area of Nottingham.

Police received reports of two men setting bushes and trees alight in people's gardens in Arnold in the early hours.

Seven fires were reported between 0100 and 0215 BST, a spokesperson from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue said.

Since 20 October, crews have attended 17 similar fires in the area.

Small fires were found in Acton Road, Bond Street, Campion Street, James Street, Cross Street and Woodside Road.

Anyone with information about the incidents has been asked to contact police.
