A fourth man has been charged after being arrested in Bulgaria in connection with a serious assault on a man in his Nottinghamshire home.

A group of men forced their way into the house in Ley Lane, Mansfield Woodhouse, and assaulted the 24-year-old victim on 1 May.

Martin Groves, 49, has been charged with grievous bodily harm and extradited back to the UK.

Three other men have already been charged in connection with the attack.

All four appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday and were remanded in custody until a hearing on 19 November.

The victim suffered severe injuries and it is thought they could have long-term effects.

Detectives are still looking for a fifth man in connection with the incident and an appeal was made on the BBC's Crimewatch programme last month.

Police are trying to trace 44-year-old Neil Groves, from Mansfield Woodhouse.

Neil Groves is described as white, slim, 5ft 5ins tall, with short dark brown hair.

He has several tattoos of birds on his arms and legs.
