Housing project in Arnold secures funding

A former sheltered housing complex in Nottingham is to be turned into social housing after almost £750,000 of funding was secured.

Killisick Court in Arnold will be redeveloped with £773,500 from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

Gedling Borough Council said the project would provide much-needed affordable family housing.

Developer Derwent Living is providing the rest of the funding and the project is due to be finished by late 2011.

Councillor Bob Tait, from Gedling Borough Council, said: "We are absolutely delighted to hear that the HCA has agreed to put forward this money to help develop the site.

"We look forward to working with Derwent Living on the project and creating a development we can all be proud of."
