Road works may cause delays on A52 in Nottingham

Motorists using one of the busiest routes into Nottingham are being warned to expect up to five weeks of delays.

Work to resurface a stretch of the A52 between the Queen's Medical Centre and Priory roundabout gets under way on Monday.

The section will be completely closed overnight between 2000 BST and 0600 BST between Mondays and Saturdays, with a 30mph speed limit at other times.

The work is expected to be completed by 10 October.

'Minimum disruption'

Outbound bus services travelling towards Derby are not affected but inbound bus routes will be diverted.

Highways Agency project manager Leonard Murray said: "We of course appreciate that the A52 is a key route for people travelling in and around Nottingham.

"After comprehensive consultation with various partners, we have agreed a plan for these essential works - including restricting closures to night time only - which will keep disruption to road users to a minimum."

Three existing pedestrian crossing points will also be upgraded, road markings will be renewed and damaged traffic signs replaced.
