Northampton murder victim named as David Miller, 56

A man whose body was found at a property in Northampton prompting a murder investigation has been identified by police.

Northamptonshire Police said David Miller, 56, lived at the property in Patterdale Walk where officers were sent early on Tuesday morning.

A post-mortem examination found he died from stab wounds.

Three men and a women, all from Northampton, were arrested on suspicion of murder and are being questioned.

A 27-year-old woman, also from Northampton, is being questioned on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Det Ch Insp Louise Hemmingway said she wanted to hear from anyone who knew Mr Miller, including "what his lifestyles and routines were like, whether they had any recent contact".

The force has referred the case to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPPC) to investigate its response to reports of the murder.
