Road rage attack with cricket bat on A14 in Northamptonshire

A driver was hit with a cricket bat in a road rage attack on the A14 in Northamptonshire.

The man was driving a white Mercedes ML when a BMW pulled in front of him near Rothwell Lodge cottages on Friday.

Both vehicles stopped and both drivers got out of their cars.

The BMW driver took a cricket bat out of the boot of his car and hit him on the back of his legs, causing him to fall. The attacker is described as white, and about 30-years-old.

He was 6ft 5in (1.9m) in height, with a stocky, athletic build. He had short, dark brown hair and a beard, and was wearing a T-shirt and jeans.

Northamptonshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened at about 13:00 BST.
