Three teenagers have been arrested after a hotel fire in Northamptonshire left four people with smoke injuries.

More than 50 firefighters helped 120 guests and staff flee flames at the Hampton by Hilton Hotel in Corby on Saturday afternoon.

Flames spread from a bin area into the rear of the hotel on Princewood Road.

Two boys and a girl arrested on suspicion of arson have been released on police bail pending further inquiries, police said.

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service area manager David Harding said the fire could have had even more serious consequences.

"The fire crews did an excellent job and searching the building to ensure all the guests and staff had safely evacuated."
