A man killed in a police chase on the M1 near Northampton last month has been identified.

Liam Mealing was run over when he left a lorry that was being followed by officers after being reported as stolen.

The 24-year old, of Beeston, Leeds, was struck by another lorry as he ran from the southbound to the northbound carriageway.

It happened near junction 16 at 03:25 GMT on 2 December.

A 20-year-old man from Leeds was arrested at the scene on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and remains on bail.
