An open-top bus tour and civic reception to celebrate Northamptonshire Steelbacks' first FLt20 title has been moved due to player commitments.

Northampton Borough Council said the cricketers' victory parade through the town had been changed to Friday, 27 September, so all players could attend.

Its leader David Mackintosh said it would be a chance for fans to "show how proud we are of our Steelbacks".

Full details of the route and timings will be announced nearer the date.

The council said it is looking at ways the tour, originally planned for Saturday, 28 September, could also visit Franklin's Gardens where Northampton Saints' rugby team will be playing that evening.

The county won its first one-day title since 1992 with a 102-run victory over Surrey at Edgbaston on Saturday.

The club is also in the running for promotion to Division One in the County Championship.
