Yasmin Vickery, nine, thrown from fairground ride in Northamptonshire

A nine-year-old girl has been thrown from a fast-moving fairground ride in Northamptonshire.

Yasmin Vickery, named by the Northampton Chronicle, struck a metal safety barrier as she was flung from the twister-style ride on Saturday.

Northamptonshire Police said she was taken from the Hollowell Steam Rally Bonfire to Northampton General Hospital with internal bruising.

She was released on Sunday. The Health and Safety Executive is investigating.

Organisers of the bonfire night event are yet to comment.

The child was said to be from Sevenoaks in Kent.

Northamptonshire Police said they would be helping the Health and Safety Executive with their investigation.
