Plane cocaine traffickers jailed
Six men have been jailed for flying class A drugs into Northamptonshire on a light plane.
Specialist police officers foiled their scheme to traffic cocaine from the Netherlands and France into the UK in June 2011.
The six had pleaded guilty at Northampton Crown Court to conspiracy to import Class A drugs but not to the second charge of supply.
The drugs were estimated to have a street value of £1.7m.
Adel Chouhaib, 33, of Fortherhay Road, Corby, was jailed for 11-and-a half years and Abdelilah Hilali, 35, of Marsham Street, Westminster, London, for eight years.
James Martin McGlone, 30, of Occupation Road, Corby, was given a six-year sentence and Christopher Andrew McGlone, of Rose Court, Corby, 27, was sentenced to five years.
Wayne Burgess, 36, of Westfield Road, Corby, and Richard Sweeney Murray, 50, of Greenhill Rise, Corby, were both jailed for four years.
