Wellingborough council Christmas lights plan for 2012

Festive lights in Wellingborough's town centre could be given a £50,000 new look - but not until Christmas 2012.

The council is preparing to turn on its ageing lights for the last time at a ceremony on Saturday 3 December.

Plans to replace the lights are being discussed by the council.

Councillors will choose between spending £50,000 to lease new LED lights for 10 years or replacing the set for £31,000.
