Abbeyfield School worker tied up in Northampton raid

A member of staff at a school kitchen in Northampton was tied up by robbers who stole a large amount of money from the school safe.

It happened at Abbeyfield School in Mereway at about 07:00 GMT.

Two members of staff arrived at work where they were confronted by two men dressed in black clothing with their faces covered.

The offenders also stole the car of one of the victims before leaving the scene.

The green blue Ford Focus was found abandoned at about 08:30 GMT on Gloucester Avenue.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
