Post resumes at dog attack street in Northampton

Postal deliveries to a street in Northampton, which were suspended after Royal Mail staff were "repeatedly attacked by a dog", have now resumed.

Earlier this month it was revealed that post has not been delivered to Dorset Gardens since December last year after the incidents, involving a terrier.

Royal Mail said deliveries had resumed on Tuesday.

The company said it had received assurances that its staff were "no longer at risk of attack from a dog".

A Royal Mail spokesman added: "We would like to apologise to customers for the disruption caused to their deliveries whilst this matter was resolved."

During the period when letters were not being delivered, post could be collected from Kingsthorpe Post Office.
