Driver in Northamptonshire lay-by crash named

A driver who died when his car hit a stationary lorry in Northamptonshire has been named as a 24-year-old from Leicestershire.

Sanjay Patel, of Lichfield Road, Broughton Astley, died when his VW Polo struck the lorry in a lay-by off the A43, near Brackley, on Tuesday.

The crash happened at about 1700 BST, off the northbound carriageway, between the Croughton and Evenley roundabouts.

The lorry driver was uninjured and the road was closed for about two hours.
