Searches are being carried out along the Suffolk coastline for an 83-year-old woman who went missing during a beach walk.

Joyce Parker was last seen at Pakefield, walking along the beach towards Lowestoft, on Tuesday morning.

Her husband, also in his 80s, became tired during the walk and returned to their accommodation. The couple are on holiday from Kettering, Northants.

There have been no positive sightings of Mrs Parker since, police said.

Although Mrs Parker is known to be mobile and capable, there is increasing concern for her safety as she did not take any money or her medication with her, police said.

Without this medication she may have become confused or collapsed.

Searches have been carried out along the coastline by officers, specialist search teams, the police helicopter and dog units.

Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue, the coastguard and lifeboat crews were also involved, but no trace of Mrs Parker has been found.

The clifftop around Pakefield is to be searched and police are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen her since 1100 BST on Tuesday.

Mrs Parker is of small build, about 5ft 2in (1.57m) with short straight white hair. She was wearing a green top, green coat and dark trousers.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police in Lowestoft.
