Four masked men rob Co-op in Northampton

Four masked men have robbed a Co-op store in Northampton.

The men entered the store in Rothersthorpe Road at about 0645 BST, threatened staff and forced them into a room at the back of the shop.

The staff were forced to open the safe and the offenders made off with cash.

Police want to hear from anybody who saw four men heading from the direction of the Double Four pub towards the Co-op. The men, in their 20s, were wearing masks, black clothing and gloves.

At least two of them carried green rucksacks. One of them wore Nike gloves and Adidas trainers.

During the raid one of the members of staff hurt his back.
