Paramedic on emergency call attacked at house in Luton

A paramedic was attacked when she responded to an emergency call at a house in Luton.

She arrived at the house in Brantwood Road on Monday afternoon to be greeted by a woman. A man then rushed towards her screaming and shouting.

He grabbed her by the arms and hit her. The paramedic alerted her control centre and police.

An ambulance spokesman praised two passers-by, both 18-year-old men, who helped apprehend the attacker.

The paramedic did not suffer serious injuries.

A man was dealt with by Bedfordshire Police and detained under section 136 of the Mental Health Act.
