Views sought on new council land in Desborough

Residents of Desborough in Northamptonshire are being asked their views on how best to use 22 hectares of land which a council is acquiring.

The open space includes the area known as The Plens and a Wildlife Trust nature reserve.

It is being given to Kettering Borough Council by a property firm as part of a housing development deal.

The developer has also provided £130,000 to ensure the area is properly managed and maintained.

Pamela Goodman, the chair of Desborough Town Council, said: "This is a long-awaited project and something that the residents all over Desborough will find beneficial on many levels.

"My biggest wish for the future of this project is that it is treated with respect and therefore will be well used for many years to come by all age groups."

More information on the consultation is available on the council website.
