Man charged over King's Lynn teenager's street fight death

A man has been charged after a teenager died of head injuries following a street fight involving a "number of people".

The 17-year-old was assaulted in Saddlebow Road, King's Lynn, just before 03:30 BST on Sunday.

He was pronounced dead at the town's Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Tuesday.

A 31-year-old man, re-arrested on suspicion of assault, has been charged with grievous bodily harm and remanded in custody.

He will appear before Norwich magistrates on Wednesday.

Police said his current charge will be subject to review pending the results of a post-mortem to be held in due course.

A 30-year-old woman arrested in connection with the fight before the teenager died has been released on police bail.
