Six houses were evacuated and a 80m (263ft) cordon put in place after a man was taken to hospital with burn injuries following an explosion.

Police were called to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital to reports the man received injuries "believed to be from a small explosion".

They searched a house in Oakdale Road in Brundall, east of Norwich, with bomb disposal officers and the fire service.

The man, who owns the property, is now assisting police with inquiries.

Residents were allowed to return to their homes at about 02:00 BST after the cordon was lifted.

Norfolk Police said items identified as "potentially dangerous" were moved to nearby farmland for a controlled explosion.
