A man who stabbed his neighbour to death has been sentenced to eight years in prison.

Kristian Tarragan, 31, of Suffolk Square, Norwich, had previously admitted the manslaughter of Lee Tingle, 50, who died in December 2015.

He was sentenced by Judge Anthony Bate at Norwich Crown Court on Friday.

Police said the stabbing concerned a dispute over a £40 debt, and armed officers were called to the scene at the time.

A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Tingle died as a result of a single stab wound.

Tarragan had initially denied murder but part way through his trial pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

In addition to the eight-year prison sentence for manslaughter, a suspended sentence order was activated to run concurrently, in respect of past offences including assaulting a police officer.
