Barclays blowtorch threat: Derek Tubby sentenced

A 60-year-old man who threatened staff at a bank in Norfolk with a blowtorch has been given a 12-month suspended sentence.

Derek Tubby, from Fleggburgh Road in Rollesby, near Great Yarmouth, entered Barclays bank in Acle on 23 September.

He pleaded guilty to affray at Norwich Crown Court in October.

In addition to his sentence, suspended for 18 months, he was also ordered to 150 hours' unpaid work and told not enter any branch of Barclays bank.
