A 66-year-old woman who crashed her car into a garden centre in Norfolk has been fined £550 for drink-driving.

Lorna Hudson, from Drabblegate, Aylsham, caused about £50,000 worth of damage when she drove the Subaru Forester into Aylsham Garden Centre.

Ms Hudson admitted the charge at Norwich Magistrates' Court on Thursday. She was also banned from driving for 18 months and made to pay £140 costs.

Nobody was injured in the crash, which happened on 31 May.

The owner of the shop, Susan Woodley, said a staff member's car was written off in the crash.

The garden centre's telephone lines were also cut off, meaning customers were unable to pay using credit or debit cards.

The shop reopened days after the crash.
