Three-month road closure in West Norfolk ends

A major route in West Norfolk has been re-opened after a three-month closure, ending long diversions for motorists.

The section of the A1122 between Nordelph and Salters Lode had to be rebuilt because the foundations were sinking.

The underlying peat and soft ground conditions combined with heavy traffic, especially HGVs, led to the problems.

Local motorists had been forced to make diversions of up 40 miles (64km).
