Possible human remains have been found near the M53 by police investigating a woman's disappearance.
The remains, discovered close to the motorway in Ellesmere Port, were found by officers looking for Ellia Arathoon.
Cheshire Police said they had not yet been identified, but were being linked to Ms Arathoon's disappearance and her family had been informed.
The 29-year-old was last seen in the Cromwell Road and Shepherds Close areas of the Cheshire town on Friday.
Two men, aged 37 and 39, were arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday and remain in police custody.
Det Insp Stephen Jones said it would "take several days" to investigate what was "a complex crime scene".
He added the wider investigation into Ms Arathoon's disappearance was continuing and would include "searches at a number of scenes, CCTV analysis and house-to-house inquiries".
