Man charged over Hunts Cross Shopping Park assault

A man has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after a 36-year-old was stabbed in a retail centre car park.

The 38-year-old from Wavertree has also been charged with possession of a bladed article and criminal damage.

Officers were called to Hunts Cross Shopping Park in Liverpool on Monday following reports of a man carrying a sword, police said.

The 38-year-old is due before Liverpool Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

A 26-year-old woman from Wavertree, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
