Suspected WW2 bomb found in Norris Green garden

A suspected World War Two bomb has been unearthed by a homeowner digging up their garden in Liverpool.

The device was discovered in the garden of a property on Wapshare Road in Norris Green, at 19:40 BST on Wednesday, Merseyside Police said.

The Army's bomb disposal team was sent to the scene and moved the device. It was taken to nearby Newsham Park where a controlled explosion was carried out.

The force said there was no disruption caused to local residents.
