A mother and daughter who were found dead at a house in Liverpool were "as close as any mum and daughter could be" their family has said.

Karen and Jade Hales, aged 53 and 28, were found at the property in Cathedral Road, Anfield, on Monday.

Post-mortem tests found they died from severe blunt force head injuries, police said.

Paying tribute their family said the pair were "a large part of our family and they will be so badly missed".

A 42-year-old man, from Anfield, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
