Belvidere Road crash: Driver, 80, charged with dangerous driving

An 80-year-old driver has been charged in connection with a crash near a school in Liverpool that left eight girls injured.

Six of the girls, aged between 11 and 16, were "seriously" hurt in the crash in Belvidere Road on 12 February.

Norma Stokes, of Booker Avenue, Allerton, has been charged with five counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, police said.

She is due to appear before Liverpool City Magistrates' Court on 17 May.
