Boy critically injured in West Kirby hit-and-run

A 16-year-old boy is critically ill after a hit-and-run.

Police said he was found with "serious head injuries" by emergency services after they were called to Grange Road in Wirral at about 19:00 GMT on Friday.

Officers said the driver failed to stop and that they later found the vehicle involved in Harrington Avenue, Hoylake.

A 21-year-old man is in custody after he was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, failing to stop and causing injury through dangerous driving.
