Man charged with drugs offence after Liverpool petrol bomb disturbance

Police investigating a disturbance during which a petrol bomb was thrown at officers have charged a man with resisting arrest and a drugs offence.

The bomb was thrown after officers were called to the Dockers Club in Townsend Lane, Liverpool, on Tuesday afternoon.

Four officers were treated for minor burns after the attack.

William Summerhill, 25, of Carno Street, Wavertree, has been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and resisting arrest.

He appeared before magistrates and was remanded in custody, to attend Liverpool Crown Court next month.

A 22-year-old man held on suspicion of assault has been released on bail.

Two other people, a man aged 50 and a 44-year-old woman arrested at a house in Lampeter Road on suspicion of drugs offences on Tuesday afternoon, have also been bailed.
