Nine arrested in north Liverpool money laundering raids
Nine men have been arrested in a series of early morning raids targeting a criminal gang in north Liverpool.
Officers executed 13 simultaneous raids at properties in Walton, Kirkdale, Fazakerley and Aintree.
A quantity of cash was seized and a cannabis farm with 100 plants was also found on Chirkdale Street, Kirkdale.
Detectives have already recovered more than £120,000 in cash from a bookmakers on County Road, Walton, which they claim was laundered by the gang.
Ch Insp Matt Boyle said: "These warrants and arrests are the culmination of a long-running investigation into a crime group which has caused significant harm to these communities.
"We will use any means available to us to reduce their impact, and we will continue to dismantle the group until they are incapable of operating."
