Man arrested after driver dies in Formby crash

A man has been arrested following the death of a driver in a car crash.

Stephen McCambridge, 54, died in hospital after his car struck a lamppost near a roundabout in Formby, Merseyside, on Saturday morning.

A post-mortem examination found he died as a result of a heart attack. Merseyside Police believe he may have been in an argument before the crash.

A 19-year-old man from Southport has been bailed after he was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.

Paying tribute, Mr McCambridge's family said he was "a loving husband, father and more recently a grandfather" who "doted on his family".
