Firefighters tackle plastics blaze in Bromborough

Smoke from a large fire on an industrial estate in Merseyside was visible for miles across the region.

The fire started at 18:40 BST on Thursday on an industrial estate in Stadium Road, Bromborough, Wirral.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service sent six engines to the scene. The fire was brought under control by 22:00 BST.

Station manager Steve Gadsdon said the fire involved a large pile of rubble and plastic.

There were no reports of injuries.
