Officers are also searching for a Grand Cherokee Jeep 4x4, with a registration beginning LF52.

"The vehicle would have sustained damage to its front following the incident and should be easily recognisable," Det Ch Insp O'Connor said.

Two people have already been arrested in connection with the collision.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder, and a 30-year-old man from Aintree was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
