Liverpool police pursuit ends in three-car crash
Three men have been arrested after a police pursuit that ended in a three-car crash in Liverpool.
Officers chased a VW Golf after it failed to stop for a routine check and later crashed into two other vehicles - leaving five men in hospital.
The driver and two passengers fled the scene of the crash, which happened on Stanley Road, Bootle, at about 19:55 GMT on Thursday.
Three men were arrested after a search of the area.
The arrested men were taken to hospital and treated for "various injuries", Merseyside Police said.
Two other men, who were driving an Audi Q3 and a Ford Focus, suffered minor injuries and were also taken to hospital.
Officers searched the Golf and found bags containing what is suspected to be a Class A drug.
Police said the three suspects would be questioned later on suspicion of burglary, aggravated vehicle taking and possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply.
