St Helens murder charge man remanded in custody

A man has appeared before magistrates accused of murder after a body was found at a house in Merseyside.

Jamie Hughes, 33, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody to Liverpool Crown Court by Liverpool and Knowsley Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

Paul John Tully, 35, was found dead at Beacon Grove, St Helens, in the early hours of Thursday.

Another 33-year-old man, arrested on Thursday, was released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Mr Hughes is due to appear before Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday.
