Tuebrook shooting: Five arrested after boy, 16, shot in leg

Five people have been arrested after a 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg in Liverpool.

The shooting took place in Rockhouse Street, Tuebrook, at about 23.10 BST on Wednesday.

The victim was taken to hospital with a leg wound but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Officers later arrested five people, including the victim, on suspicion of possessing a firearm.

They were two men aged 20 and 34, a 38-year-old woman, and two 16-year-old boys.

The scene has been cordoned off and police are making house-to-house inquiries.

Merseyside Police said they understood all those arrested were known to each other.
