Worker dies after trapping arm at Newton-le-Willows factory

A worker died when his arm became trapped in machinery at a factory in Merseyside, police have confirmed.

The body of the man, in his 40s, was found at the industrial premises in Suez Street, Newton-le-Willows near St Helens at 11:15 GMT.

The site and some roads around it have been cordoned off while the Health and Safety Executive and police investigate.

No-one else was injured and the man's family have been informed, police said.

He died having "sustained injuries while operating machinery", officers added.

The North West Ambulance Service confirmed paramedics were called to reports of a man with his arm trapped in machinery.
